Lab Pit Bull Mix – Labrabull
Labrador Retrievers and Pit Bulls are both two of the more popular dog breeds, so it’s pretty common to find Lab Pit Bull mixes in shelters and in the free ads of the paper. And since ‘pitbull’ is commonly used to describe muscular, blocky dogs, it’s a common description used in shelters.
But, unless both parents are known, it’s hard to 100% determine if a “lab pitbull mix” in shelters is truly a mix of a Lab and Pit Bull.In any case, it’s important to realize that the temperament is going to be varied per dog. When dealing with mix breed dogs, there’s no standard in appearance, temperament, trainability, health, etc.
- Both Labs and Pit Bulls are very intelligent breeds.
- Both breeds are low maintenance on grooming.
- Both Labs and Pit Bulls are people pleasing.
- Both breeds can have destructive tendencies when bored.
- Both Labs and Pit Bulls can have high energy.
Labrador Retrievers come in three basic colors- blonde (light blonde and a darker blonde), black, and chocolate. Lab mixes can come in a variety of colors, and since Pit Bulls come in all sorts of colors and patterns, a Pitbull Lab mix can be just as varied.
This dog mix can be a great family pet. You’ll want to work with the dog, just like any dog with basic obedience training. You’ll also want to make sure to keep this mix breed dog fully exercised, as when bored, they may be prone to digging and chewing.
Jumping can also be a concern, especially when excited.
Pitbull-Lab mixes can be great pets and family dogs.
