On Tuesday, November 20, 2012, Garzon-Jimenez was in her home in Indianapolis when a man and woman broke into the home.
Garzon-Jimenez was on the phone with her husband, who was at work at the time, when someone stuck their hand in the door, and said, “Give me the money or we take the baby.”
Garzon-Jimenez told the mane that she didn’t have any money, when the woman grabbed 3-month old baby girl and attempted to leave the home through the back door.
What the couple didn’t know was that at the back door, Garzon-Jimenez’s pit bull mix was there waiting. The dog would not let the woman leave the home with the baby. She through the baby back to Garzon-Jimenez and the couple fled the scene.
The mother was treated for cuts and bruises at a local hospital, and although she had been hit in the head during the incident, she was released without too much trauma. The baby was left completely unharmed.
Indianapolis police are now searching for the suspects.
If it wasn’t for the family’s pit bull mix, the cute baby girl would be one of many left missing from their families.
