Best Friends Animal Society is an animal rescue that finds homes for all dogs, cats, horses, pigs, birds and more. At any given time, the animal sanctuary may have up to 1,700 animals in foster care, under medical treatment and up for adoption. The rescue is a no-kill shelter with nearly 3,700 acres and another 17,000 acres of leased state and federal land.
Even though the companion animal sanctuary is not breed specific, the shelter understands that Pit Bulls are like cats- large numbers dying or being put down at shelters because of overpopulation. The shelter fights breed discrimination, breed bans and fights to change the image of the breed.
There are many ways that you can donate to the Best Friends Animal Society. They accept monetary donations and supplies. You can shop their wishlist items, or shop AmazonSmile where a proceed of the sales will go to the shelter.
If you live in the area and have the time to spare, please consider volunteering. Sometimes your volunteer hours mean more to the employees and animals than giving a monetary donation.
